Simple Joys, Sweet Memories

Last Christmas was extra special because we celebrated with our complete family. We didn't travel far, choosing instead the warmth and comfort of our own home. The day was filled with the joyful preparations and anticipation that only a family gathering can bring. The air buzzed with excitement as we decorated our home and prepared for a delicious feast. The simple act of being together, sharing laughter and stories, created a magical atmosphere that made this Christmas truly memorable. We knew it would be a day filled with love, laughter, and the delicious aromas of our favorite dishes.

We started by arranging a beautiful display of fresh fruits on the table – mangoes, bananas, and oranges etc. A colorful and appetizing centerpiece. Then, the cooking began! Mom's famous suman, a sweet sticky rice dish, filled the kitchen with its irresistible aroma. Alongside the suman, we prepared a classic Filipino Christmas spread: spaghetti, pancit, and Shanghai rolls. The kitchen was a whirlwind of activity, laughter, and the happy chaos of family working together. To complete our feast, we grilled a delicious pork, the smoky scent adding another layer to the already mouthwatering smells. The meal was a celebration of our family's culinary traditions, enjoyed with shared stories and happy chatter. We also went together to the church, Also going out to eat lunch with my aunts, uncle, and cousins. And of course there were many gifts and money from our loved ones, adding to the festive cheer.

It was a Christmas filled with simple joys and the warmth of family. We didn't need expensive trips or extravagant gifts; the love and togetherness were more than enough. The delicious food, the shared laughter, and the precious moments spent with loved ones created memories that will last a lifetime. Christmas at home was truly unforgettable, a perfect blend of tradition, family, and delicious food. The memories made with my family this Christmas are ones I'll treasure, and I'm looking forward to creating many more in the years ahead.
